Middle East
a little about the Middle East

Nowhere else offers such a profusion of preserved ancient monuments than the Middle East. It’s the birthplace of the world’s most ancient civilizations, as well as the three great monotheistic religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The Middle East is home to the only remaining one of the seven wonders of the ancient world: The Great Pyramids at Giza. The ‘call to prayer’ drifts across the rooftops from beautifully ornate mosques, whilst tradesmen peddle their wares in the exotic bazaars. Jagged mountains, sun-kissed beaches, and desert-scapes all add to the region’s rich cultural heritage.
The bible works just as well as any modern guide book for finding your way around the innumerable historical sites. Nowhere else can you find the holiest sites of the world’s three major religions all within a few hundred metres of each other. The Middle East’s history is just beneath the surface everywhere you look.
Some of the photographs for Syria are in the gallery and there are plenty more to follow.
